Beautiful views abound in the Columbia River Gorge. I was in the right place at the right time to catch this late fall afternoon looking east through the Gorge. The intense blue color of the distant hills were what attracted me to this waterscape scene. I think this glowed because the skies were extra clear and blue and the streaming light caught the vapor mist over the water ultimately intensifying the chroma of the blue. As with most of my other paintings, I contrasted the complementary colors against one another. In this case it’s orange against the blue.
