I usually take a camera with me when I go for a walk. Even though I’ve walked the same routes almost daily for nearly 20 years, I never know when or where inspiration will strike. The combination of time of day, season, mood, and train of thought might compel me to see something in a new light and want to paint it.

These mailboxes, all lined up in a row and interspersed with yellow newspaper boxes at different levels and angles,  grabbed my attention. That, along with the long shadows, and the bright light in the background, seemed to beg to be painted.
