I was drawn to the serenity and simplicity in this little gem of a scene. It conveys the peace and satisfaction that comes at the end of the day: work’s been done, the yard is mowed, and the low-angled sunset sends a subtle message of hope. Each shed gave off an air of having its own personality, and I attributed that to when they were built and the personality of each builder.

The buildings really started to come together after several layers of paint. The pure color on these sheds really worked for me. I often look for these opportunities as a way to reward the viewer for close inspection of my paintings.
